This year the global LRN (Logistics Research Network) community will be exploring the theme of Supply Chain Sustainability in its main Annual Conference in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Given the widespread interest on the topic, after the annual conference, the CILT will also run an international LRN Forum in the city of Fortaleza – Brazil, which will provide an opportunity for the academic community in Latin America to further explore and discuss research on supply chain sustainability.

The LRN Brazil Forum will run in collaboration with the ENEGEP (Encontro Nacional de Engenharia de Produção) conference, which will also strong focus on sustainability. LRN Brazil 2023 will be a Special Session of the ENEGEP and take place on 16th of October (hybrid event) and 17th of October (in-person event), a day before the main ENEGEP conference, which will run from 17th to 20th October.

We welcome scholars and practitioners from around the world to join us in Brazil to discuss the research which includes, but are not limited to, the following topics:

  • The relationships between sustainable supply chains and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • Supply chain sustainability and resilience challenges
  • The role of logistics and supply chains in the circular economy and in the sustainability of organizations
  • The application of Industry 4.0 technologies to improve the sustainability of supply chains
  • Energy transition and low/zero carbon technologies in the context of logistics

We welcome submissions on topics within the broader business research agenda addressing supply chain sustainability, including the social dimension of sustainability.

Submission Guidelines:

We welcome submissions of 500-word structured abstracts as a proposal for consideration at the conference. The abstract should have the following sections: Purpose, Research Approach, Findings and Originality, Research Impact, and Practical Impact. At least one author must attend the Forum to present the accepted abstract.
