Description:

When: 24 August 2023, 17:00 (for 18:00) - 20:00
Where: Keele Business School, Keele University, Keele, Staffordshire, ST5 5BG

Speaker:
Gary Curzon, Business Process Improvement Manager, Mettler Toledo Safeline Ltd

We now live in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world.

Faced with unforeseen disruption following a series of remarkable events we all worked tirelessly to limit the damage to your order books, customer service levels and to prevent costs from spiralling out of control.

Although we all became experts at firefighting, showing agility, flexibility, inventiveness and adaptability to find a short-term solution to whatever new challenge we were presented with.
However, firefighting is an inefficient, time-consuming distraction.

In addition, a number of related topics under the heading of ESG (environmental social governance) are coming to the fore that we must seek to address. Topics around diversity and inclusion, sustainability, digitalisation, cybersecurity, talent attraction and retention all need to be considered when assessing the robustness of your supply chain.

Therefore, the question is how do you build a supply chain that is resilient enough to withstand the next significant disruption whilst ensuring you drive forward with the ESG agenda?

Please note the delegate list will be vetted by the organiser.

Visit to AggrekoBook Now

Event Code:SR0531
Description:

When: 5 September 2023, 14:00 - 16:30
Where: Lomondgate, Dumbarton G82 2RL
Speaker: Kimberley Campbell CMILT, Head of Manufacturing at Aggreko

Aggreko are sector specialists, offering generators for hire and recommending the right choice of energy and specialty rental solutions to improve productivity. Anywhere in the world, from rapid-response emergency support to multi-decade investments, they offer customers access to the latest, cleanest, and most efficient technologies. This removes the need for customers to invest in and manage these assets directly, thus allowing them to focus more on their own customers, their communities and creating a sustainable future.
Last year Aggreko announced an upgrade of their production facility in Dumbarton, with an investment totalling £4.5million. The site will turn into a future energy hub, replacing all diesel with low-emission HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) as well as exporting surplus power generated during production tests of Next Generation Gas gensets back to the national grid. Smart battery storage systems and LED lighting systems will also be used to make the use of energy at the facility more efficient.

The scheme includes the acquisition of land at Lomondgate Park next to the existing site, which is owned by Strathleven Regeneration CIC (SRCIC). Construction started in November 2020 and represents an investment of £4M with local firms, bringing over 300 employees together in a campus environment which will add a state-of-the-art rental depot to the existing manufacturing site. The investment and plans form part of the Aggreko’s commitment to achieve Net Zero emissions from its own operations by 2030.
