Why join?

Becoming a Member of the Institute demonstrates your achievements at a supervisory, first line, junior management of equivalent level of responsibility. It is the first level of our globally-recognised assessed grades. Individuals who join at this grade are entitled to use the MILT post-nominals on CVs, signatures and other business stationery. They can access the full range of benefits offered by the Institute. This includes access to our regional Membership Groups and ForumsCareers Service and Knowledge Centre, Europe's largest collection of logistics and transport resources. You will also receive a printed copy of our highly regarded magazine Logistics & Transport Focus every month. Members are encouraged to get involved via our social media networks to build their professional networks.


Who can apply?

You can apply for this grade directly, or join at a lower grade and work your way up once you meet the criteria.


Application criteria

There are three pathways to this grade of membership:


  • A relevant Level 3 qualification or CILT Certificate AND at least three years relevant work experience, OR
  • A relevant Level 4 qualification or above AND at least two years relevant experience in the profession, OR
  • CILT Professional Diploma AND at least two years relevant experience in the profession.

Professional entry

If you do not hold any formal qualifications, you must have at least five years relevant work experience including a minimum of three at a supervisory/junior management level.


How much does it cost?

Membership rates are kept to affordable levels by the CILT Board - please view our current fees.


Note: UK bank account holders can qualify for 12 months membership for the price of 11 in your first year by setting up a direct debit instruction.
